15 days left! 73 days left!
I feel like these past couple of months have been nothing but countdown after countdown...countdown to Step 2, countdown to my last rotation ever of medical school (33days), and the 2 most important countdowns: countdown to Match Day (March 20th) and the countdown to Nat and my wedding (May 17th). I have certified my rank list and am now playing the ever dreadful waiting game. Sometimes I feel that the match is the only thing that anyone ever talks about!
Since my non-White Xmas in CA, we have had nothing but downpour of snow and rain here in NY. I thought we were all in the clear but February rolled around and it has been one snow/rain storm after another. I know a lot of people think that snow is so nice...I agree it's nice to look at when you are inside drinking hot chocolate and have a whole table of movies to go through but to actually have to walk through the stuff...I don't think its very nice!!
Well this past weekend I had the opportunity to go back to CA to finish up some stuff for my Cali letter and tie up some loose ends for the wedding. The most recent wedding update is I have had my 2nd dress fitting and the dress is really coming along. My parents took a lot of pictures of me in the dress and I would love to put them on the blog but I'm afraid that Nat might sneak a peek and I don't want to mess with tradition. Nat has picked his tuxedo and his groomsmen tuxedos...they are going to look very handsome. Overall, all of the big things for the wedding are done and all that is left are small details like where people are going to sit, what kind of music we want, etc. We are both getting pretty excited!
We have also planned our honeymoon. We are going to the Cook Islands for 2 weeks. I know everyone is wondering where in the world are the Cook Islands (I get the same questioning look from everyone I tell). They are a bunch of little islands between Tahiti and New Zealand. They are supposed to be absolutely breath taking. And they even did a Survivor there so it must be fun, right?(hopefully not too rugged!). We got a beautiful villa on the island of Aitutaki right on a lagoon and then we fly to the main island of Rarotonga where we have an equally beautiful villa on the beach. It will be an amazing trip!
So I think I've updated everything that has been going on so far. Next thing is the match of course. Say a little prayer on March 20th!! Pictures to follow...
