Animals and the City

I know it's like the cheesiest title for a blog entry but I couldn't think of any other title, so just bare with me!

I have started my 2nd week in my Peds rotation. All last week I worke in the outpatient clinic and I started to really like it. I know I have always wanted to do Peds, but it's just so cool to finally be doing what I have said I wanted to do all along. I saw a lot of benign cases last week; sore throats, colds, diarrhea, vomiting, all of the really "fun stuff" of Peds. I learned how to do a newborn exam, a throat culture and many other very useful skills. This week I am in the nursery which means I get to do what I love to do the most...play with babies!!! (I can see Nat cringe when he reads this). Today I went to 6 deliveries where I got to check out the babies when they are born to make sure that they are crying, breathing ok and are not too blue. I will be there all week so I hope to see many more deliveries and play with many more babies.

So getting to the true title of this entry. After the Yankee game last weekend, CL, Nat and I went walking through Central Park where I got this great pic of the Chrysler Building. Isn't it so pretty at dusk?

This weekend I had to say goodbye to Nat because he was lucky enough to get a week off from work so he decided to take the opportunity to go back home and do some fishing and hopefully some surfing.

Sunday afternoon, CL and I decided that we were going to revert back to our childhood and go to the Bronx Zoo; something both of us had wanted to do since we moved here. It was so much fun; we were the only two people there without kids, hehehehe! We took lots of pictures of all sorts of animals and went to the new Gorilla exhibit which was the best exhibit there.

Here's a picture of CL and I walking out of the Gorilla Exhibit.

We ended the evening by going to Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square to have our one decent meal for the week! Overall it was a very fun day but I wished that Nat was there to spend it with me too.

Thanks so much for helping GT move in. Sounds like you're going to make the most of your time in the Big Apple. Best to you and Nat. Susi
