The Results are In!!

So March 20th finally came around and I am proud to say that I will be a pediatric resident at Maimonides, Children's Hospital of Brooklyn, NY. I am really excited but a bit bummed that I will not be in Cali; but I guarantee that I will be back!! It's just been a crazy week; I found out Monday that I matched, which was one sigh of relief, then I found out Thursday that I will be going to Maimo. I'm most excited cause that means that Nat and I will not have to be apart for our first year of marriage. It will be such an easy transition...I already know the majority of the peds residents, I am familiar with their computer system and I'll be able to have lunch with Nat whenever both of our schedules allow it.
After a found out that I was going to Maimo, Nat took me out to a great dinner to Anthony Bourdain's restaurant in the city, Les Halles (we are such Food Network junkies!) It's a French bistro with a bit of American flare...it was very yummy. After dinner, we headed off to the SGU match party at an Irish pub. It was a fun party but very weird seeing people that I haven't seen since Vinnys! As a whole I think our class did really well in the match; a lot of people going to Detroit, Philly and of course staying in NY. Cheryl will be one of the people leaving NY for Detroit and I am kinda bummed but now that means I just will be able to visit her in Michigan, a state I have never been to. I only took like 4 pictures at the match party so I added 2 below.

Now that the match is done and decided I can breathe easy and just relax for my last month of med school. I have 2 more weeks left at Beth Israel for Family Practice and then back to Maimo for 2 weeks of Anesthesia and then I am done!!! I am very relieved. I feel like I am back in college with a bad case of senioritis.

On another note, the wedding plans are coming altogether. The music, the officiant, the flowers, and the tuxes are all chosen and done. All that is left is waiting for the RSVPs to start rolling in!!
