LA Girl Still Stuck on an Island

Back from a great vacay!!

It is Monday afternoon and I have just come back from Case of the Week groups and 4 grueling hours of class. This past weekend was a lot of fun. Friday afternoon, a group of about 5 of us missed the last hour of class to fly to Barbados, where there were already about 10 other people from our class. We arrived in Barbados to very beautiful weather and a very cool beach house. This time we decided to rent a beach house instead of dealing with a hotel. Our beach house was right on the beach, as shown in the attached picture. (The hammock was the best part!!). So once we arrived we hit up the best restaurant on the island, Cafe Sol, mexican restaurant. It was so yummy there that we ate there 2 more times!! That night was pretty mellow; we went to a local fish fry that happens every friday night and it was crazy! The next day, Gwin and I went to a resort right next to our house, where you can get a day pass and use all of their facilities. It was very much needed relaxation. Gwin and I were there from about 10:30am until around 4pm. Unfortunately, I did not use my better judgement because I laid out without any sunscreen on and I am now paying for it. I am now a lovely hue of brunt orange with a lot of red mixed in!! (I know, I know!!) Well, while Gwin and I were soaking up the sun, Sam, Rich and Jenna went diving for the whole day and they said it was awesome. They saw a huge baracuda, a sea horse and an old style phone covered in coral and algae. They had a great time. When we finally all met up we went to a local surfing area called South Point. The surfing there was awesome; there were clean barrels and the waves were at least double overhead (surfing lingo provided by my many years listening to my fiance, Nat, talk about surfing). There were some really good locals out there too totally ripping (that is Nat speaking through me, hehehe). Well I am added some pics here to show you all. Then that night, we all went out to eat, and you guessed it, we went back to the mexican restaurant!! The food there is just so good. After dinner, we attempted to go out to the bars but everyone was just so full and so tired that we ended up calling it an early night. The next day it was rainy and cloudy, which was ok for me cause my body did not need anymore sun! After just hanging out, we finally made it back to the mexican restaurant again for a bon voyage lunch (that makes 3 times!). After happy hour margaritas we slowly made our way to the airport where our flight was delayed but we made it home in time for a very great Grey's Anatomy! So here are my top 5 favorites moments of my Barbados trip:
5). Mexican food
4). Getting a lot of sun (almost too much but praying it'll turn into a tan very soon!)
3). Hanging out with everyone (especially on our beautiful patio in the hammock)
2). Seeing Mandy and Aviv in Barbados and getting to spend some time with them
and #1). the Mexican food!!! (can you blame me? i'm from SoCal!!!)
So that is my trip to barbados in a nutshell (a rather large one), I will post some more pictures once I get some from everyone else. Bye!!

Be glad you were there, at least for the weather. I too was able to have a few epic surf sessions in Norcal this weekend. The water was about 44, and the puddles on the ground were frozen, but the surf was an honest double over head (not like that picture you put up which was really just head high). glad you had fun.
