Playing Catch Up
I'm not sure if I have used this title before or not but oh well, I'm sticking to it. Well, I am almost done with my medicine rotation; I am now on week 11 out of 12. I feel like I have been in medicine since August; it is so long of a rotation and at times it really seems to drag on. After the 11 weeks, 7 of which were spent on 7-E-one of the most notorious floors for being very very busy and a lot of older patients, I can say that I did learn a lot. I now know how to draw blood really well, how to get blood out of central line oh and a little bit of medicine!! I enjoyed working with the residents and the attendings but I don't think I will miss it too much. Medicine is a very good field and a good jumping board to get into something else like cardio or GI, but I don't think it is for me. Anyways, I had my oral exam this week, which went really well and I have my written exam next friday. My next rotation is radiology which I heard can be very boring so I am hoping I can do a lot of studying then for Step 2.
Work aside, I have been a bit boring. All I do really is study and go out to dinner with Nat. It has been very cold here lately; we've gotten some snow too! I am having a bit of a hard time getting used to the cold but I am trying very hard with my heavy jackets, beanies and scarves! Well, that's about it for me!!
