Week before the wedding RECAP

So I brought you all to speed up until Monday which was the last normal day we had until things got really crazy. On Tuesday, my mom's cousins from England flew into LAX and at the exact same arrival time my aunt and uncle from Poland also came into LAX. It was very interesting cause my aunt and uncle have both been to the States before but never together and they haven't been back for over 20 years, so a lot had changed since they had been there. It was so great to see them...I haven't seen them since I went to Poland for 2 months back when I graduated college. My mom's cousins also haven't been back to the States in about 8 years. I just feel so fortunate that they both chose to come all the way out from Europe for our wedding. We celebrated by having a big dinner, lots of drinks and even more catching up.

Wednesday brought in my uncle from Oklahoma and Nat from NY. I went to pick up Nat at LAX and then we went straight to the Orange County Courts to get a marriage license. That night we had another big dinner, steaks on the grill, along with pear martinis and lots of laughter.

On Thursday, Nat, Carib and I drove out to Laguna Beach to meet up with Erik and Nick so that the boys can get some surfing in while Carib and I enjoyed the beautiful weather walking along the beach. Thursday also brought in my family from France...my dad's 2nd cousin, Marco and his girlfriend and Marco's sister Liviene and her husband. So of course, we had a huge BBQ dinner which was a linguistic adventure because not everyone spoke the same languages. Marco only spoke French and Polish, his sister only spoke French and English, my aunt and uncle from Poland only spoke Polish and the couple from England only spoke English!!! Let's just say there was a lot of translating going on but with some good food and plenty of drinks, I think the dinner was a complete success.
