Going back to Cali, Cali, Cali

A little over 2 weeks ago, I took my Step 2. I think it went alright...I am very glad it is over. The weekend after my test I went on a much needed shopping spree to mecca (aka Bloomingdale's on 59th & Lex) and I loved it so much! I got some great stuff and even an outfit for residency interviews. On Monday, I started Peds Surgery for 2 weeks as a filler elective at Maimo. It was a lot of fun actually even though they worked me as an intern!! I still had some down time which was nice after 6 weeks of straight studying. So that brings us to today...the day I leave for Cali for 1 month. It's a bittersweet homecoming because I am really sad to be leaving Nat and my grandmother has been in the hospital for the past couple of days. I am excited to go home but I know I have a lot of work ahead of me. I found out that at CHOC I will be q4, which means I will be working every 4th night and having to spend the night at the hospital! I hope the puppy will be OK these nights. Nat will be staying in NY for 2 weeks then flying to LA for 1 day and then he goes off to Tahiti for his surfing trip with a couple of his friends...he is unbelievably excited. After Tahiti, Nat flies to San Fran to a couple of days then back to LA to pick me and the pup up to go back to NY!!!

Other than our travel plans, Nat and I have been busy planning the wedding. We are getting married at The Huntington Hyatt Regency in Huntington Beach, CA. We also helped pick out a great restaurant for our rehearsal dinner near the hotel the night before. While in Cali, I will be picking out my wedding dress and the bridesmaid dresses! Hopefully, Linzy and Sarah will be able to join us. I am not really sure what else I will be able to get done for the wedding when I am home because I will be working so much!

Anyways, I will put some pictures up from my trip home and hopefully some of Nat's pictures from Tahiti.

Quick moment to breathe!

So I have a bit of time to update my blog. It is 10pm on Sunday night of Labor weekend and I just finished studying for the day and eating a crappy dinner. Nat and I are sitting here watching The Untouchables, which I have never seen.
As you can see, I put up pictures from Jav and Nicole's wedding. It was about 2 weeks ago now and it was a lot of fun. Nat was a great groomsman and looked very cute in his tuxedo. It was great seeing all of the boys back together like Brandon, Dee, Ram and Jav. Nicole looked really pretty and she had some great tips for me for places to go in New York for dresses especially. Other than Jav and Nicole's wedding, these last 5 weeks have been very mundane with only studying and going to Manhattan for Kaplan classes. I finally finished my Kaplan classes this past Friday and am very glad to not have to trek for an hour there and an hour back every day to Manhattan.
I have 4 days left until my test and part of me is ready to have it over with and part of me still wants some more time. I guess it's better just to get it over with. After I take my test, I have a whole list of things I want to do...shopping, getting my hair and nails done and maybe some tanning time! I start 2 weeks of Pediatric Surgery on September 10 just for kicks and I am totally looking forward to it. After that it is off to Cali for me and the puppy!! I will be doing a Peds SubI at CHOC and the puppy will be terrorizing my parent's cat and dog! hehe. Well, there's my quick life update. Wish me good luck on my test!!
